    The 4th Sub-Technical working group meeting on Environmental and Social Safeguards (STWG-SG) was held on 10 May 2013 which aimed to present Draft Roadmap for Environmental and Social Safeguards for NRAP and to collect comments, feedback from all the participants.

  • New Funding for Climate and Forests Protection

    Washington, January 10, 2013 – In a boost for global efforts to combat climate change and tropical deforestation, Finland, Germany, and Norway have each announced new financial contributions totaling approximately US$180 million to the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), the World Bank administered facility that was set up to compensate developing countries for reductions in carbon dioxide emissions achieved by preserving their forests.

  • Viet Nam, Norway and UN Announce US$30 Million for REDD+ in Viet Nam at UN-REDD COP18 Event

    Norway signed a US$30 million financing agreement with the United Nations to support a second phase of the UN-REDD National Programme in Viet Nam. This second phase (2012-2015) will significantly scale up the work Viet Nam has been doing, with support from Norway and the UN-REDD Programme since 2009, to Reduce Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+).
